Note from the Editor’s Desk: Introducing the Interns

Boa Dia Vagabundos,

I know, it’s been a long time since I’ve sent out an Editor’s Note. The truth is that we have been very busy at Vagabundo Magazine over the past couple of months. We are a growing company, we are learning as we go and in many cases we are taking on the work of a couple people while at the same time carrying on other jobs. As such, I felt there was a need to expand a bit. I am very excited to announce that we have brought on two new members to the team!

After asking on twitter if there would be any interest in an internship the response was overwhelming. I ended up getting about 15 emails from people offering their services. In the end, I decided to go with two people: Ed Rex and Luis Alvarez.

Ed Rex

Ed Rex is an environmental expert Englishmen who has degrees in both environmental science and consultancy. He is about to set off on an 8 month globetrotting journey hoping to become a travel writer along the way. We’re going to try to help him get there. You can also check out his personal website here: http://www.rexyedventures.com

Luis Alvarez

Luis Alvarez is from Central Mexico and is a graphic designer and an aspiring foodie. He has traveled extensively throughout Mexico and has also spent time in Spain and Russia both working and studying. Luis, like all of us at Vagabundo Magazine, truly believes that travel can cure what troubles the world. Travel has a way of bringing people together and giving one an other a better understanding of different cultures and ideas. We’re excited to have Luis on the team.

We are very happy to be bringing on these two new guys and are still looking for one more intern. We are hoping to add “a woman’s touch” to the magazine since having only 4 men at a company can cause nothing but trouble. If you are interested in becoming the 3rd intern and have dreams of becoming a travel writer, photographer, blogger at some point in your life please don’t hesitate to contact me at editor@vagabundomagazine.com. Our interns don’t just gain a little bit of experience, but associate editor Will and I have made it our duty to act as mentors to them so that they can excel in a career path involving travel.

Anyways, I am off to Haiti tomorrow morning for a couple days covering the volunteering effort in the country as well as getting my hands a little bit dirty myself. I hope that everyone is doing well and that the new year is treating you all well so far.

Remember, you are caged only by your fears. The life you are wanting to live sits right outside those fears. Once you remove those fears you can be nothing but happy.
Safe travels,

Editor-in-Chief,

Brendan van Son
